Asus unveils Zenfone 12 Ultra with Snapdragon 8 Elite

The company is offering the device in two variants-- 12GB RAM + 256GB storage and 16GB RAM + 512GB storage with prices starting around Rs 80,000.

Taiwanese consumer electronics major Asus on Thursday (February 6) launched a new flagship mobile Zenfone 12 Ultra.

The latest Asus premium phone sports a 6.78-inch full HD+ (2400×1080p) Samsung E6 AMOLED LTPO display with 1-120Hz refresh rate, up to 2500 nits brightness.

The device's screen is protected by Corning's Gorilla Glass Victus 2 shield and it also comes with IP68 water-and-dust-resistant rating.

It flaunts silky matte glass finish, ultra-narrow bezels, and rounded corners. The mid-rail is made of 100 per cent recycled aluminium. Further, the company has used 22 per cent recycled glass for the screen screen, and the device comes with FSC-certified packaging. And, the new ZenFone 12 Ultra comes in nature-inspired colours-- Sage Green, luxurious Ebony Black, and Sakura White.

It also features In-display fingerprint sensor, 3.5mm audio jack, dual speakers, 5-magnet stereo speaker and dual-SIM slots.

Inside, it is powered by 3nm class Snapdragon 8 Elite, Qualcomm's most powerful chipset, which can up to 4.1GHz speed. It comes paired with Adreno 830 GPU, 12GB / 16GB LPDDR5X RAM with 256GB / 512GB (UFS 4.0) storage and 5500mAh battery with 65W Hyper charge fast charging, Quick Charge 5.0 and PD Charging, and 15W Qi wireless charging.

The new Zenfone 12 Ultra runs on Android 15 with Zen UI OS. It supports several generative Artificial Intelligenc features inclusing AI transcript 2.0, AI Article Summary, AI Document Summary, AI Call Translator 2.0 and Circle to Search in addition to Google's Gemini AI app.

It also boasts of triple-camera module-- main 50MP (with 1/1.56-inch Sony LYTIA 700 sensor, f/1.9 aperture, 6-axis Gimbal stabilization) with 13MP 120-degree ultra-wide camera and a 32MP 3x telephoto sensor (f/2.4, OIS: Optical Image Stabilisation) with LED flash on the back.

And, on the front, it houses 32MP (with 90-degree FoV: Field of View) for the selfies and video calling.

It supports several gen AI photography tools such as AI voice clarity (in videos), AI Portrait Video 2.0 and AI Tracking (to keep the subjects centred in the frame).

It will initially available in select regions including Europe, Taiwan and Hong Kong. The company is offering the device in two variants-- 12GB RAM + 256GB storage and 16GB RAM + 512GB storage-- for NT$ 29,990 (approx. Rs 80,006) and NT$ 31,990 (around Rs 85,341), respectively.
