Lenovo unveils ThinkPad T14s (6th Gen) PC with AMD Ryzen AI 7 PRO 360 in India

The new Lenovo PC can support up to 50 TOPS (Trillion Operations per Second) of AI processing power.

World's leading PC maker Lenovo on Monday (December 9) pulled the wraps off the company's latest AI laptop ThinkPad T14s series at the TechDay 2024 edition event in Bengaluru.

The new ThinkPad T14s, developed specifically for corporates, comes with a 14-inch WUXGA display with an 88 per cent screen-to-body ratio. It boasts 3M’s optical technology to deliver 400 nits of brightness with touch functionality. It is known to be one of the most power-efficient displays compared to the ones found in conventional PCs.

Inside, Lenovo's new computer comes with an AMD Ryzen AI 7 PRO 360 processor, which can deliver up to 50 TOPS (Trillion Operations per Second) of AI processing power. It is more than enough to run advanced data analysis and real-time machine-learning tasks on the PC. The AMD chipset comes paired with an integrated AMD Radeon 880M GPU. This combination is perfect for high-quality video editing, crucial for content creation and other graphics-intensive tasks.

To support power-hungry AI tasks, Lenovo has incorporated high-density battery technology, which can hold more power per unit of battery than other conventional laptops. With a full charge, it can deliver a little over 17 hours of battery life.

With each passing day, cybercriminals are coming up with new nefarious ways to breach devices and seek ransom give back trade secrets or sell them to the highest bidder. For corporates, it is very important to have high-security features in their work PCs to protect them from such cyber threats.

Lenovo boasts of proprietary ThinkShield, which combines hardware-enabled features and Microsoft Pluton’s chip-to-cloud technology to protect against sophisticated threats. This ensures secure identity management, cryptographic services, and robust defence at every level.

Eco-friendly laptop

The new ThinkPad T14s is one of the most eco-friendly PCs in the market. "It comes with 90 per cent post-consumer recycled materials and is packaged using plastic-free, FSC-certified materials. The company offers Carbon dioxide offset service, said Matej Misturik​, Senior Product Manager - Global Accounts at Lenovo.

For the uninitiated, Lenovo's CO2 offset service lets the owner know the carbon footprint of their device. The company computes carbon emissions caused during the procuring of the raw materials and runs factory assembly plants to build the particular PC model. With these details, the buyer, to compensate for the device's carbon footprint, can contribute to climate action projects around the world including solar, wind renewable energy, and destruction of industrial gas. They are verified by independent third-party organisations such as the United Nations, CDM, Gold Standard, Climate Action Reserve, and others.

The company says it has helped commercial companies offset more than one million metric tonnes of carbon dioxide associated with the purchase of their IT equipment. That’s the equivalent of the amount of greenhouse gas emitted from over 215,000 passenger vehicles driven over one year.
