Nothing Phone 3 to come with Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 8s silicon

Compared to the Phone 2 series, the successor promises to deliver 36 per cent faster in terms of CPU performance.

Nothing Inc. earlier this month announced to launch the new Phone 3 series in early July. Now, the company has revealed a key feature of the upcoming device.

Nothing Inc. co-founder Carl Pei confirmed that the Phone 3 will be coming with Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset.

"This time we're going to use a very, very new chip from this year, the Snapdragon 8S Gen 4... it's the first time we're using a current year chipset. "I think we have a pretty good offering with the Phone 3, great balance. It's uniquely nothing, but also a very fresh new direction... it's more technical and more warm. Even more so than before," Pei said during the video chat on the official Nothing YouTube channel.

The new Phone 3 will offer better performance than its predecessor. Compared to the Phone 2, the successor promises to deliver 36 per cent faster in terms of CPU performance, 88 per cent better GPU performance and 60 per cent stronger on the NPU front.

The Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 comes with Snapdragon Elite Gaming features, including the Qualcomm Adaptive Performance Engine and Adreno Frame Motion Engine 2.0. They work in tandem to deliver ultra-smooth, high-performance gaming sessions while significantly enhancing power efficiency.

Nothing Inc co-founder Carl Pei has also confirmed that the new Phone 3 will cost around £800 (approx. Rs 91,336).

In the recent teaser, the company revealed that it has ditched the Glyph interface for the Phone 3. Rumours are rife that it might feature a secondary display or an improved version of LED panels to deliver notifications.

Besides the Phone 3 device, the London-based company will be launching headphones on July 1.

With just two weeks left before the official launch date, more details will be revealed in the coming weeks, as the company is known to reveal key features as it gets closer to the launch day.
