Undertrial attempts to commit suicide

An undertrial who is facing charges of severing his wife’s head has attempted to commit suicide at the district prison on Sunday night.

Satish is the undertrial man who tried to kill himself. He tried to commit suicide inside the cell by hanging himself with a woollen sweater and hat. He was provided first aid at the district hospital and was later shifted to the Hassan district hospital. He has now been admitted to Nimhans, Bengaluru, as per expert advice.

Satish had allegedly beheaded his wife and had surrendered at Ajjampur police station while carrying the severed head of his wife in a sack.
