Ryanair flight grounded at Rome airport for two whole days, all thanks to a cat

A cat forced a Ryanair flight to be grounded for two days in Rome after it hid inside the plane and refused to leave.

According to a report by the New York Post, a Ryanair Boeing 737, scheduled to fly from Rome to Germany last week was grounded after its crew heard strange meowing sound emanating from the aircraft.

Several panels of the plane were removed and searched, after which, the cat was found hiding in the plane's electrical bay.

And thus began a cat-and-human chase. The feline hid deeper into the wiring, thus cancelling the flight over safety concerns.

The safety precautions were taken after several mid-air incidents in the past few months have heightened security.
