Govt schools toilet to be cleaned within a month: DyCM

Deputy Chief Minister and Bangalore Development Minister G Parameshwara has ordered authorities to ensure the cleanliness of toilets in government schools across the city within a month.

Speaking at the Karnataka Development Programme (KDP) meeting held at Bangalore Zilla Panchayat office on Monday, Parameshwara observed that out of the 885 government high schools in the city, 35 require the classrooms to be repaired and another 24 need to be reconstructed. “Two thousand rupees need to be allocated to each toilet and the cleaning work needs to be completed in a month’s time,” Parameshwara said.

He has also ordered officials to take action against doctors who are not punctual in providing treatment to patients in government hospitals. Recalling the incident at Mother Wood Hospital, where three infants died due to the inefficient treatment by the doctors, Parameshwara said that if there are such cases of negligence, then either shut down the hospital or take necessary action against the doctors.

He has also ordered officials to provide the exact details about building individual houses for poor people, as only 48% of the work has been completed until now. “When we come for the next KDP meeting, I need complete details for five years and the financial aspects have to be discussed before coming to the meeting. There should be clarity and no false information should be provided to us,” he said during the meeting.

He also said that the water at Tippagondanahalli dam is polluted with chemicals and he ordered not to allow industrial waste to enter into the dam.
