The Rajasthan Police arrested one more person on Sunday suspected to be involved in the mob lynching of 31-year-old Akbar Khan (alias Rakbar).

"We have arrested the third accused, Naresh Singh who is also a resident of Lalavadi village like the other two. Four accused were identified. Now the last one is missing", Subhash Sharma, circle officer at Ramgarh police station of Alwar, told DH.

The police on Saturday arrested two people identified as Dharmendra Yadav and Paramjeet Singh in connection with the lynching and lodged an FIR under Section 143, 341, 323, 302 and 34 of IPC.

Akbar was attacked by a mob in Rajasthan's Alwar district on Friday night reportedly on suspicion of cow smuggling.

The victim and his friend Aslam were were travelling from Kolgaon in Haryana to Ramgarh through a forest area near Lalawandi in Alwar when the mob attacked them.

The mob attacked the two men. However, Aslam, who was travelling with Akbar, managed to escape

He told DH that they purchased two cows at a price of Rs 30,000 each from Khanpur when around seven people attacked them.

"They fired on us and in the air. I managed to escape but they got hold of Akbar," said Aslam.

However, Akbar's father Sulaiman denied his son's connection with cow selling or smuggling. "My son was a cattle rearer and had nothing to do with cows. They were going to buy Goats for Eid not cows", Sulaiman, the victim's father said.
