Sexual assault cases against 3 Congress MLAs in Kerala

In a poll-eve embarrassment for the Congress in Kerala, sexual assault cases have been registered against three sitting MLAs. Two of them were considered probable Lok Sabha election candidates.

While rape case was registered against Ernakulam MLA Hibi Eden, a case for outraging the modesty of woman was registered against Konni MLA Adoor Prakash. Another case was registered against Wandoor MLA A P Anil Kumar for unnatural sex.

All the cases were registered as per the complaint given by a woman who was accused in a major solar power project scam in Kerala. The Crime Branch filed the first-information-reports at a special court against MLAs and MPs in Kochi on Wednesday.

Sexual assault cases were registered against AICC general secretaries Oommen Chandy and K C Venugopal last year on the complaint of the same lady. But the probe into the cases are still inconclusive.

Hibi Eden and Adoor Prakash are among those being considered as candidates for Lok Sabha elections.
