IAF recruitment drive held at Mysuru

As many as 1,500 candidates from nine districts of Belgavi, Bagalkot, Vijayapur, Bidar, Kalaburagi, Yadagir, Raichur, Dharwad and Uttara Kannada appeared for the recruitment process organised by the 7 Airmen Selection Centre, Bengaluru, a unit of the Indian Air Force (IAF), for the posts of group Y (non-technical) to the IAF, here, on Wednesday.

The recruitment process had physical examination, written test, psychological adaptability test 1, adaptability test 2, and DFT test for recruitment of Guarda commandos. The second round of recruitment drive for the remaining districts from Karnataka state will be held on December 7.

Candidates born between July 14, 1998, and June 26, 2002, (including both days) were eligible to take part in the recruitment drive. The candidates should have passed Intermediate or 10+2 or equivalent courses, approved by the state or Central educational boards. The candidates should have secured at least 50% marks in the qualifying exam.

Wing Commander Mayank Kanungo, Commanding Officer of 7th Airmen Selection Centre, informed that this recruitment rally is held to recruit candidates for the IAF from Karnataka state. “1,500 candidates from nine districts have appeared in the recruitment drive. From these, 1,443 candidates were eligible for physical test and 415 cleared the physical test. They qualified for the written test,” he said.

J P Mishra, Junior Warrant Officer, told DH that the district administration has made good arrangements to conduct the recruitment drive. The candidates from North Karnataka are showing good interest to join the IAF.

Three candidates Dattu, Pradeep and Navanath from Bidar, who arrived for the recruitment drive could not take the tests as they reached the centre at Chamundi Vihar Stadium after 10 am, much later than the stipulated time.
