KPCC president Dinesh Gundu Rao on Wednesday said a decision about seat sharing with the JD(S) for fielding candidates in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections would be taken shortly and internal discussions in this regard had already begun.
The State Cabinet would be expanded on December 22, but it would not affect the stability of the government as expected by BJP leaders, Rao said. Leaders of North Karnataka region would be given preference in the Cabinet expansion, but all aspirants cannot be accommodated, he said, adding that there is no discontent in the party.
Meanwhile, State women's Congress president Pushpa Amarnath stated that senior leaders of the party have been urged to accommodate more women in the State Cabinet and to field more women candidates in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections.
The state legislature should also pass a resolution asking the Centre to take steps to give reservation for women in Parliament and State legislature, she added.
