Gadag, Davangere record good rain

Light to moderate showers lashed several parts of Gadag and Davangere districts on Friday.

After a month-and-a-half break, rain resumed in Gadag district, bringing a much-needed relief to the farmers. Gadag town, Mundargi and Nargund taluks received good spell of rain for half-an-hour.

The showers have turned Gadag roads, which have been dug up for UGD works, into slush fields.

A moderate spell of rain poured misery in Mundargi town. Rainwater mixed with sewage from overflowing drains gushed into the houses in the newly formed layouts on the outskirts of the town.

Nargund town and parts of taluk expereinced showers intermittently on Friday after a two-month break. Davangere city received good spells of rains for the second consecutive day. The showers left city roads waterlogged, causing hardships to the motorists.
