<p>Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit on Tueday paid tribute to the martyrs of the famous Hardinge bomb case — Master Amir Chand, Bhai Bal Mukund and Master Awadh Behari – in a function organised at MAMC Campus which used to be the Old Delhi Jail.<br /><br /></p>.<p>Dikshit, while paying floral tributes to them, exhorted people to imbibe the spirit of patriotism from the sacrifices made by Delhi martyrs. <br /><br />Kiran Walia, minster for social welfare and women and child development, was also present along with other officials.<br /><br />Master Amir Chand, Bhai Bal Mukund and Master Awadh Behari were executed on 8th May 1915 in Old Delhi Jail whereas Basant Kumar Biswas was executed the next day on 9th May 1915 in Ambala Central Jail. <br /><br />In memory of these martyrs, a memorial has been built at the site of the jail’s ‘Phansi Ghar’. <br /><br />Homage is paid every year to them for their courage protesting the entry of the Governor-General of India in the new capital of Delhi on December 23, 1912. <br /><br />They had attacked the imperial procession by throwing a bomb in Chandni Chowk. Lord Hardinge was injured in this incident.<br /></p>
