The Supreme Court on Tuesday slammed the Centre for its lackadaisical approach in developing a portal for registration of the unorganised or migrant workers, to allow them to reap benefits from various government schemes.

Plans afoot to create country's first urban wildlife corridor in Delhi-NCR
Forest departments of Delhi and Haryana are working on an interstate plan to build a wildlife corridor on a busy road stretch near the Asola Bhatti Wildlife Sanctuary to provide safe passage to leopards and other animals, officials said on Tuesday.
This will be the first such corridor for wildlife management in an urban setting in the country, an official said.
The wildlife sanctuary covering 32.71 sqkm area on the Southern Delhi Ridge of Aravalli hill range lies in southern Delhi and northern parts of Faridabad and Gurugram districts of Haryana. (PTI)

Spain's government approves first draft of gender self-identification bill
The Spanish government approved on Tuesday a first draft of a contentious bill that would allow anyone over 14 years old to legally change gender without a medical diagnosis or hormone therapy, a government source said.
The draft bill, which will now go to a public hearing before a second reading in the cabinet and ultimately a vote in the lower house, removes the current requirement for two years of hormone therapy and a psychological assessment for people to switch their gender in official records. (Reuters)

Corbett opens for round-the-year tourism
The Corbett Tiger Reserve was opened on Tuesday for round-the-year tourism. Five ranges of the reserve including Garjia, Bijrani, Dhara-Jhirna, Dhela and Pakhron were opened this afternoon for day visits for the whole year, Corbett's Director Rahul said.
Corbett's opening generated great enthusiasm among wildlife lovers with around 50 bookings made for the day safaris on the inaugural day, he said. Opening the reserve for round-the-year tourism will help people whose livelihoods are connected with it.(PTI)
