<p>A tea vendor received injuries in his throat after a doctor attacked him with a paper cutter at south Delhi’s Hauz Khas on Monday.<br /><br />Umashankar Lal, 33, who lives with his family at Aya Nagar, underwent treatment at Safdarjung Hospital.<br /><br />Police said Gautam Nagar-resident Ritul Yadav, 30, attacked Umashankar after a heated argument over using a washroom.<br /><br />“Ritul is preparing for Medical Council of India examination after pursuing MBBS from a college in Russia,” a police officer said.<br /><br />Umashankar and Sunil run tea stalls outside Ritul’s rented house and at Yusuf Sarai DDA market parking lot.<br /><br />It is alleged that the brothers regularly used a washroom on the second floor of Ritul’s building, to which Ritul always objected.<br /><br />“Sunil went to the washroom around 7 am on Monday. Ritul saw him and allegedly initiated an argument,” the officer added.<br /><br />Sunil then came downstairs and narrated the incident to Umashankar. Soon, Ritul also came down and was involved in a scuffle with the two brothers.</p>.<p><br />Ritul went back to his room after a while, and Umashankar returned to his Yusuf Sarai tea stall around 8.30 am.<br /><br />Ritul went to the Yusuf Sarai tea stall around 9.45 am and attacked Umashankar with a paper cutter. He came from behind and attacked him without any warning.<br />“Umashankar sustained injury on the right side of his throat and was rushed to Safdarjung Hospital by Sunil,” the officer said.<br /><br />Ritul, who hails from Uttar Pradesh’s Etah district, was arrested on charge of causing grievous hurt over Umashankar’s statement to Hauz Khas police station.<br />He was produced before a court on Tuesday and sent to judicial custody for 14 days.<br /></p>
