<p>Bharathanatya, an art form which encompasses all aspects of human life had cast its spell on her at a very young age. <br /><br />The cultured family atmosphere was all encouraging. She was ably nurtured and guided by Guru Dr.vasundhara Doreswami. The little girl was introduced to the world of Verbal modes (Vachika), Visual representations (Aharya), bodily postures (Angika) and understanding and appreciation (satvika). <br /><br />Thirsty for knowledge<br /><br />The artiste hidden as disciple immersed herself in quenching the thirst for knowledge. Kalyani with the blessings of her Guru and parents celebrated her Rangapravesha (28-12-2010) at the Jaganmohana Palace during ‘Vasundharotsava’.<br /><br /> She was assisted by Vasudha (Vocal), Dr. Vasundhara Doreswami(Natuvanga), H.L.N.Shivashankaraswamy(Mridanga),Thandavamurthy(Violin), Smitha Kiran (Flute) and Karthik shastry (Rhythm pad).<br /><br />A perfect and flexible body combined with an expressive face that has a striking resemblance with her Guru enables Kalyani to present the dance with confidence. <br /><br />The abhinaya is very appealing and absorbing as she relives the character she is portraying. Kalyani, after the respectful Guruvandana in Pushpanjali, started her recital with Alaripu the customary invocation. A Jathiswara in Hamsanandi had footwork with different varieties. <br /><br />Her Nritta ,Nritya and abhinaya was highlighted in Shabda(Ragamalika) and Padavarna Khamach). The Padavarna had ample scope for abhinaya and contained lovely lyrics by Dwaraki Krishnaswami. Kalyani depicted Vamanavatara and Draupadi Vastrabharana beautifully .<br /><br />Sudhamayi<br /><br />A popular Keerthana of Muthiah Bhagavtar in Amrithavarshini ‘Sudhamayi’ was interesting with fast adavus. , a Devaranama in bhairavi again displayed her talent in different expressions while portraying Lord Krishna’s pranks. The last item was a Tillana by Maharajapuram Santhanam which consisted of striking poses and utplavanas.<br /><br />Kalyani has proved that she has a bright future in the field of dancing. With true dedication and hard work, she can scale greater heights.<br /></p>
