<p><br />Just a week after the IRCTC opened its much awaited food kiosks at Metro stations on the green line, they were found shut on Monday with the CISF raising security concerns.<br /><br /></p>.<p>The Central Industrial Security Force said the location of the outlets at Metro stations will cause hindrance in the frisking area. “The food kiosks were too close to the screening area so they have been closed as of now,” a CISF official said. “The decision was taken in consultation with the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation,” he added.<br />Even the kiosks at Surajmal Stadium and Ashok Park Main stations which are away from the screening area have been found to be closed. A DMRC official said, “The process is not completed yet. The paper work and finalising of project take time.”<br /> <br />“The IRCTC’s food outlets at all Metro lines will get fully functional in a couple of months,” he added.<br /><br />A vendor shutting a kiosk at Udyog Nagar Metro station said they found it difficult to do business with the constant interference by security officials.<br /><br />The CISF official said the outlets will be shiffted to other areas at the stations where the security is not compromised.<br /><br />A vendor at an outlet at Peera Garhi Metro station said, “We haven’t started giving food and cooked snacks like samosas as the warehouse of IRCTC is quite far off. Gradually, we will start serving rajma rice, vegetarian briyani and other eatables which are on the IRCTC menu.” <br /><br />Diversifying its catering business, the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) signed an memorandum of understanding with the DMRC to operate food joints at 130 Metro stations in the capital.</p>
