Members of District Valmiki Sangha have urged the JD(S)-Congress leaders to appoint Yamkanamardi MLA Satish Jarkiholi as the Deputy Chief Minister.
In a press conference here, the sangha president B H Dharmappa said, the party leaders should appoint Jarakiholi as the deputy chief minister and give him a powerful portfolio for the development of the community.
The community has a population of 70 lakh in the state. While the Congress has 9 MLAs, JD(S) has two MLAs from the community. Community leaders B R Ranganath, Janaka Nayaka, Ranga Nayaka and others were present.
KPCC vice-president R Shambulinga, also a Nayaka community leader, urged KPCC to appoint Jarkiholi as deputy chief minister.
