Two persons were killed and one was injured when unidentified assailants fired at their vehicle on Delhi-Agra highway on Tuesday.

The assailants first rammed into the victims’ car and then shot them from close range.

The car was coming from Mathura and heading towards Vrindavan when another rammed into it, police said.

The victims’ car skidded and came to halt, and before they could anticipate what awaited them, six persons came out of the other car and fired at them. Two persons were killed on the spot.
Traffic was affected for some time after the incident.

Witnesses said the assailants sped towards Delhi. Police suspect a land deal that went sour as the reason behind the shootout.
