<p>For the first time in 20 years, Krishnarajasagar (KRS) dam in Srirangapatna taluk, has crossed the 100-ft mark in the month of June. The water level as on June 17 was 101.40 feet.</p>.<p class="bodytext">The water level in the dam went up by 23 feet in the<br />last week as heavy rain lashed Cauvery catchment areas.<br />It may be mentioned that<br />the water level had come down to 73 feet in April, forcing the authorities to stop release of water into the canals.</p>.<p class="bodytext">On Sunday, the inflow to KRS stood at 17,096 cusec and outflow 368 cusec. The water level on the corresponding day last year was 67.86 feet.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Raitha Sangha leader Haniambadi Nagaraj said the authorities should convene Irrigation Consultative Committee meeting to decide on releasing water into canals.</p>
