Senior Congressman Husain Dalwai, who first floated the idea of Congress-NCP backing Shiv Sena, on Wednesday met Uddhav Thackeray aide Sanjay Raut and stressed on the need to keep BJP out of power.
"We would not allow President's rule in Maharashtra... we would not allow the BJP to come to power," said Dalwai, a Rajya Sabha member.
After meeting Raut, he said that the mandate is not to have a Chief Minister of BJP. "We don't want the state to have a Chief Minister of BJP," he said.
A couple of days ago, Dalwai had written to Congress interim President Sonia Gandhi to keep BJP from coming to power in Maharashtra again.
