BJP leaders pay homage to Union Minister Ananth Kumar

BJP leaders mourned the untimely demise of senior BJP leader and Union Minister Ananth Kumar on Monday.

At the district BJP office, leaders paid floral tribute to the portrait of the minister and observed silence in respect of the departed soul.

MLC Sunil Subramani said that leaders from all parties appreciated Ananth Kumar. He was known for his problem solving skills. He would amicably solve the differences between party leaders.

"Ananth Kumar was a close associate of former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. His demise is an irreparable loss to the party, national politics and also to the state as he was acting as an ambassador of the state by communicating the issues of the state to the Centre. He played a pivotal role in strengthening the BJP in the state," added Subramani.

BJP town unit president Mahesh Jaini said Ananth Kumar had a good rapport with the legislators from the district. He has worked immensely in the capacity of a minister.

Leaders Jagadish, Umesh Subramani, Manjunath and Anita Poovaiah were present.

Tributes were paid to the departed minister at the Suntikoppa, Somwarpet and Virajpet offices of BJP.

Seer condoles death

Chitradurga Brihanmutt pontiff Dr Shivamurthy Murugha Sharanaru mourned the demise of BJP leader Ananth Kumar.

Expressing his grief, the seer spoke to reporters and said that Ananth Kumar shared a special relationship with the Mutt as he was involved in social works throughout his life. He was one of the mature leaders in the country, he added.

Taluk Coffee Growers Association has expressed its condolences on the death of Ananth Kumar.
