Last Updated 19 January 2019, 16:57 IST

Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy on Saturday accused the BJP leaders of trying to create Constitutional crisis in the state.

He was speaking to reporters at Mysuru Airport, in Mandakalli, near here. “The BJP leaders are making futile attempts to topple the coalition government. They want to form the government unethically or want to bring Presidential rule in the state by creating constitutional crisis,” he alleged.

Kumaraswamy alleged that the BJP will continue it’s anti-Constitutional activities and denied BJP’s allegation that JD(S)-Congress trying to hijack BJP MLAs.

The BJP leaders in the country were under the illusion that there is no alternative for them. But, the gathering of other party leaders from across the country, during his swearing-in ceremony and the political rally organised by West Bengal Chief Minister and All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) leader Mamata Banerjee, has sent them a clear message. The conference was historical in the country.

Kumaraswamy said that as per the surveys, there is no wave towards BJP in upcoming Lok Sabha election and the JD(S) and the Congress will continue alliance in Lok Sabha elections in the state.

Resort politics

Speaking about BJP’s resort politics, he said, neither JD(S), nor Congress leaders, behaved like BJP leaders, when B S Yeddyurappa formed the government. The Congress MLAs went to resort to showcase their unity and to avoid BJP leaders from luring them. There is no need to give special meaning for it, he said.

For a query, the CM said, JD(S) has no necessity to shift MLAs to resorts. “The BJP leaders are trying to lure our MLAs and the legislators have informed me about the offer given by the BJP. All the MLAs are united.”

When asked the JD(S)-Congress will counter the BJP’s resort politics, the CM said, “We don’t have any counter strategy for BJP. I am busy preparing for the upcoming budget and resolving farmers issue. I am committed for the development of the state.”
