The Class 8 boy of Emmemadu village, who had highlighted Kodagu’s plight in a video, has thanked Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy for visiting the district.

Kalera Fateh met the chief minister on Thursday night. When the chief minister pulled boy’s leg by saying “You have made a video saying the chief minister has forgotten Kodagu.” The boy said, “The previous chief minister had forgotten it, sir. I am happy that you have visited the district.” To this, the chief minister said, "Even without your video, I would have visited the district.”

The boy appealed to the minister to sanction a government junior college to the village. PWD Minister H D Revanna said it will be sanctioned during the year.

The boy also invited the chief minister to his house. Revanna said he will visit and solve the problems.

In the video, the boy had taken a dig at the chief minister for “neglecting” Kodagu district in the budget. “Mysuru, Mandya and half of Tamil Nadu get water, if it rains in Kodagu district. But the unrelenting rain has destroyed coffee, pepper, arecanut and paddy crops.” The video had gone viral on social media.
