<p>BookMyCharters, the only Indian charter booking platform owned by Mumbai-based air charter service Baron Aviation, plans to raise further funds to enhance its business in more routes and roll out its international operation. <br /><br /></p>.<p>In an interaction with DH, BookMyCharters chairman and CEO Rajeev Wadhwa said, “Charter flight booking via online is a growing business in India, as it helps clients save time and bring confidentiality in their travel plan. It will enhance the performance of the individuals and help increase the productivity of companies where people management is important,” he said.<br /><br />He said the company is working on international rollout by negotiating affiliations with operators across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. “The large part of our fundraising will go on global expansion and marketing of our platform to bring new customers to the charter market. By 2019, we are aiming to have a revenue of Rs 250 crore from India and launch BookMyCharters in at least three more countries. Our goal is to enable customers to book a charter flight anywhere in the world, at just one click,” he said. <br /><br />The company has identified 22,000 routes and 149 airports within the country for its operation. “The current Indian Charter Market comprises 124 aircraft owners who own 162 private jets based out of seven locations. Only 6% of our target audience in metro cities are currently using charter services,” he said. <br /><br />Herculean task<br /><br />Currently, booking a charter flight is a herculean task, as there is no platform available for this. There are middle men who take enormous time and commission to get the booking done. Since the users take more time and money, and the owners of private jets do not find suitable partners to make available their aircraft on time, the business in the area is muted.<br /><br />“With BookMyCharters, we have redefined the charter booking process and bring in the much-needed transparency in the industry. Customers are now empowered with real-time availability, instant quotes, and diverse aircraft options with all the relevant details. We have brought in many technologies behind this endeavour,” he said. <br /><br />The company’s complex algorithm use the availability of flights and the customers’ demand real-time and give a cheaper pricing for their travel plan. It has established seven to nine base locations, and at present has 16 operators with 40 aircraft on board. BookMyCharters is a globally scalable platform and is geared to address the $ 20-billion global opportunity. <br /><br />“Currently, the Indian charter industry by flying hours is approximately 65,000 and in value terms is Rs 1,800 crore. By 2020, the Indian charter market is expected to be Rs 5,000 crore with nearly 350 business jets in the charter category,” he said.<br /><br /></p>
