<p>New Delhi: French sports goods retailer Decathlon on Tuesday said it will scale up its annual local sourcing from India to $3 billion by 2030 from last year’s around $480 million, driven by footwear, cricket products, fitness equipment and technical textiles categories. </p>.<p>At present, India accounts for 8 per cent of Decathlon’s global sourcing quantities. “Our goal is to increase it to 15 per cent by 2030,” Decathlon India CEO Sankar Chatterjee told reporters.</p>.<p>He said the company plans to increase manufacturing capacity as well as retail presence. “Today, we are able to offer a diverse and growing portfolio of categories, made-in-India, that meet the evolving needs of Indian sport users,” Chatterjee said.</p>.<p>He said the company’s expansion would create over 3 lakh new direct and indirect job opportunities.</p>.<p> “As we continue to strengthen our footprint across offline and omni-channel platforms, production excellence remains at the heart of our strategy,” he said at an event to mark 25 years of Decathlon’s operation in India.</p>.<p>Talking to DH, Frederic Merlevede, Head of Decathlon Production, said the company has consistently increased its sourcing from India.</p>.<p>Merlevede claimed that around 70 per cent of the quantities sold at Decathlon India outlets are made in India products. “Our target is to increase it to 90 per cent by 2030,” he said.</p>.<p>The French firm targets to boost its revenue from India operation to Rs 7000 crore by 2030 from Rs 4,100 crore last year.</p>.Bengaluru Tech Summit 2025 to bring 20,000 startup founders on one platform.<p>Decathlon currently operates 132 stores across 55 cities in India.
