<p>The Mahindra Truck and Bus Division (MTBD), part of the $17.8 billion Mahindra Group, on Wednesday announced the launch of ‘BLAZO’ — a new heavy commercial truck series.<br /><br /></p>.<p>Addressing reporters here on Wednesday, MTBD Chief Executive Officer Nalin Mehta said, “The ‘BLAZO’ series includes vehicles for haulage, tractor and tipper applications, and is equipped with ‘FUELSMART’ technology.”<br /><br />The new FUELSMART technology is claimed to be one of the differentiators of this truck range, and its highlight is the introduction of a CRDe engine with multi-drive mode features, as seen on cars. <br /><br />“The multimode feature will have three modes — Turbo, Heavy and Light — which can be switched by the driver as per the load and road conditions,” Mehta said, adding, “Besides the new technology, we have even refreshed the looks of the new series and have introduced the new turquoise blue colour variant.” MTBD holds a 4% market share in the heavy commercial vehicles segment.<br /></p>
