Provident Housing, a wholly owned subsidiary of real estate company Puravankara, has integrated artificial intelligence into its business, and it will introduce two robots - Mitra and Mitri- to the public at Bengaluru Home Habba, which will be held between July 13 and July 15 at Sindoor Convention Centre, near JP Nagar Metro Station.

These robots will be the first touch point for all visitors, and they will capture data like name, phone number, and take photographs of visitors within 30 seconds. These information will be moved into the Customer Relation Management System and Sales Force of Puravankara so that they can contact prospective buyers immediately.

The company has tied up with Bengaluru-based robotics company Invento Markerspaces, which also developed an interactive humanoid robot for HDFC Bank.

It wants to move completely online by 2020 right from consumers choosing the door number of the house to swiping their cards to seal the deal.

Anand Narayanan, chief operating officer of Puravankara said the adoption of new technology is fundamental. "By bringing in the element of AI through humanoid robots, we aim to scale up the efficiency of our customer interfaces," Narayanan said.

During the Habba, since robots are replacing humans, there will be only three assistants instead of the usual 10, he added.

The robots' work will not end in just data storing, Invento Markerspaces is working to add more features like showing customers videos and photos, so as to provide the customers an idea of the new building.

Balaji Viswanathan, co-founder and CEO of Invento Makerspaces said this is for the first time any real estate company is engaging humanoid and that India could be the lead for other countries to follow suit.
