<p>Two world-renowned European furniture brands on Thursday marked their entry into the Indian market at Simply Sofas’ 30,000 sq feet flagship store in Bengaluru.<br /><br /></p>.<p>Leolux from the Netherlands and Bonaldo from Italy — both third generation family businesses — are the latest additions to the list of 15 brands that Simply Sofas has to offer. While the Dutch brand is known for its iconic, award-winning sofas, the Italian brand stands for its 80-year long expertise in dining furniture.<br /><br />“Leolux and Bonaldo are some of the most celebrated names in fine furniture. The brands at Simply Sofas have been carefully chosen for what they bring in terms of craftsmanship as well as innovation and heritage,” said Maaruti Rao, MD, Simply Sofas.<br /><br />“India is a new market for us, but I believe that a majority of Indians, especially who travel, are familar with and understand the Italian culture and have a strong appreciation for Italian craftsmanship and design,” said Alberto Bonaldo, Managing Director, Bonaldo.<br /><br />The company invests significantly in R&D to understand the potential of a market, says Bonaldo. “We are now here to understand the market, and we want our customers as well as our partners to share an emotional connect with us, and that is why R&D is really important to us,” he said. <br /><br />Leolux is a brand that stands for innovative techniques and expert craftsmanship in its designs, says Sebastiaan Sanders, the global head of Leolux. The brand which emphasises on comfort in its designs claims differentiation in presenting customers with personalised offerings. “It happens to be a matter of shame for us when a customer has to buy something from stock,” he said, adding, “The customer should be able to say I have something that nobody else has, and this kind of early adopters is what we are focusing on here.”<br /><br />“We want to build a brand that lasts,” said Sanders.</p>
