For international calls billing will be per second at the ISD charges. <br /><br />Borrowing from the Tata group Chairman Ratan Tata’s per small car ‘Nano’, Tata Docomo will soon launch ‘Nano SMS’ which will have different charges based on the number of charecters in the SMS. The details are yet to be announced. <br /><br />Tatas entered into a partnership with NTT Docomo of Japan in November, 2008 with the latter acquiring 26 per cent stake in Tata Tele Services. The GSM service, with the brand name — Tata Docomo was effectively launched on June 10, 2009. (Tata’s CDMA mobile service under the Tata Indicom brand was launched many year ago). <br /><br />The GSM service, so far, has been launched in five circles — Chennai, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Orissa and Karnataka. The firm is confident of covering the rest of South India in the coming week and other circles by October 2009.<br /><br />iChannel data service<br /><br />Briefing reporters, Tata Tele Services Managing Director Anil Sardana said “the attempt here is to inspire every customer through refreshingly different and liberating experience.”<br /><br />True to his ambitions — the brand besides the per-second-pulse revelation has promised several other services — including ‘iChannel’, with the expertise from Docomo. <br /><br />iChannel will be the brand’s data service that will provide users with updates on various topics like: weather, sports, politics, news etc. The firm is in talks with several media firms to get the service functional. <br /><br />Besides, there are several other value-added-services (VAS) that the company will offer in the future that are promised to be user friendly. <br /><br />Tata Docomo President Deepak Gulati said “there are a lot of service providers, lots of services and plans, but surveys reveal that the consumer is confused and unhappy. Thereby our aim is to bring out VAS that are customer friendly and useful.”</p>
