Apple will soon start manufacturing the company's latest A14-Bionic powered iPhone 12 in India.

"We are proud to be starting production of iPhone 12 in India for our local customers. Apple is dedicated to making the best products and services in the world to delight our customers," the company said to IANS.

Apple's supply partners- Foxconn has one factory unit in Tamil Nadu and Wistron Corp has two in Karnataka. However, there is no official word where the assembling of the iPhone 12 will take place.

But the good news is, with each passing year, we are now seeing a pattern of Apple's increasing interest in seeing India as the next big growth engine for the company.

It started in 2017 with Apple's supply partner Wistron commencing the production of older iPhone models such as iPhone SE, followed by iPhone 6S, iPhone 7, and later iPhone XR.

Last year, we saw Apple's other big Original Equipment Manufacturer( OEM) contractor Foxconn started assembling iPhone 11 within a year of global debut and now, iPhone 12 production is also commencing within six months of debut in India.

Hopefully, the successor of the iPhone 12, understood to be named iPhone 13 (launching in the second half of 2021), be made in India and exported to global regions.

After the Covid-19 outbreak, many consumer electronics companies have started to diversify their manufacturing units from China to Vietnam, India, and other neighboring regions of Southeast Asia.
