Eikon will provide essential news, live data, commentary, analytics, liquidity information and videos on desktop and mobile device to its subscribers. The service is available on multiple computer platforms, Blackberry and iPhone devices with a single sign-on to access information.

"Markets today have moved beyond geographical borders and Eikon aims to provide data across the globe at professionals' fingertips. Eikon has done away with the need to remember instrument codes or complex interfaces, thus creating a new benchmark in providing information across asset classes," Managing Director and Senior Company Officer, South Asia, Tarun Anand told reporters here.

It is a paid service and will be available at USD 1,800 per month subscription basis, Anand said, adding that the service will go live from Friday. The company's 5000 dedicated employees in the Bangalore research and development centre played a significant role in Eikon's data contribution, collection and data mining.

The Bangalore operation was also involved in building the computer-based techniques used in spotting, mining and analysing business data, he said.
