JOIN USCertificate course in drug abuse counselling
Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Manipal will start a six-month certificate programme in ‘Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselling’, under the newly established Centre for Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances, from March 23.
One contact class will be held every Saturday from 9 am to 5 pm. Candidates with bachelor’s degree are eligible to apply for the course.
Dr G Shreekumar Menon, who is heading the Centre, said the course would serve as an introduction to the field of ‘Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselling.’
“The course will help to deepen the understanding of substance use disorders, facilitate the development of addiction counselling competencies that are associated with positive treatment outcomes and providing substance abuse evaluation, education and treatment services.”
