Abused, guard stabs supervisor

A 21-year-old man was stabbed to death by a security guard of a private firm on Lavelle Road on Monday.

The deceased, Dilip Pradeep B, worked as a supervisor at a musical instruments company, Cinerama Private Limited, on 4th cross Lavelle Road. The accused, Bijoy Biswas, was the security guard at the same firm, the police said.

Monday afternoon around 1.50 pm, when Dilip was walking out of the office, Bijoy stabbed him twice with a knife. Dilip lay in a pool of blood on the road while a few passers-by alerted the police. The Cubbon Park police rushed to the spot and arrested Bijoy with his weapon. Dilip was shifted to a hospital where he was declared brought dead. The police have registered a case of murder and are investigating further.

According to the police, Bijoy nurtured a grudge against Dilip as he used to abuse him frequently. Bijoy has been plotting to kill him for the last two months and purchased the knife from an online portal two weeks back. While the deceased was a native of Kolar Gold Fields, Bijoy is a native of Kalikapur in Agartala.
