Last Updated 22 November 2018, 20:28 IST

A 10-day design deep dive awaits the city. Organised by Bengaluru ByDesign, the unique design festival will unfold on Friday with a medley of temporary installations, conferences and exhibitions, all aligned to a theme: Transform the city of Bengaluru.

Also on the festival agenda is arguably the largest design conference in the country, India Design Forum. From November 23 to December 2, the festival will crisscross the city to celebrate creativity, encourage design thinking and explore innovations in design in cities.

Three key themes will guide the festival: Design and Public, Design and Education and Design and Business. The objective is to promote public participation, education, innovation, sustainability and creativity via design. As part of the festival, three design districts — Whitefield, Electronics City and Yelahanka — will play host to a variety of events.

The Whitefield ByDesign will host The Makers Market, featuring over 25 designers handpicked for their exceptional work and inventive design aesthetic. Total Environment in collaboration with the festival will conduct their annual event, Think Design, where the exhibitors will focus on their large residential projects, showcasing capabilities in furniture design.

The event will also showcase how craft beer is made and music scored by Total Environment Music Foundation. Swiss gaming artist and game designer Chris Solarski will conduct a workshop on disruptive game design framework inspired by traditional art principles.
