Three cases of sexual assault and molestation were reported in the city.

In the first incident, a security guard allegedly raped a 20-year-old school housekeeper at knifepoint after dragging her into his home.

The woman, who hails from Assam, was living in a house on the premises of a private school in Kadubeesanahalli near Marathahalli, eastern Bengaluru, on September 6. The suspect, Nasrullah Hussain, 28, came to her house on the pretext of asking about something. As she stepped out, he dragged her into his home and raped her at knifepoint, police said. A police officer suspected that Hussain, who hails from Bihar and is unmarried, had fled to his hometown after learning about the woman’s complaint.

Quack held for ‘bad touch’

Mohammed Hamid Qureshi, a 35-year-old quack from Shampura near DJ Halli, was arrested for misbehaving with a 28-year-old woman on the pretext of treating her. He was later released on bail.

Qureshi usually roamed on his motorcycle and approached lone women. Introducing himself as an ayurvedic doctor, he would offer cheap treatment. If the woman agreed, he would grope her and flee. Police said Qureshi was once thrashed for groping women walkers.

Techie’s case

In the third incident, a 20-year-old woman working at Bagmane Tech Park, CV Raman Nagar, said a colleague sexually assaulted her in a parking lot. He promised to marry her but started avoiding her. He was arrested.
