Cops collect evidence in dog-killing case

A day after the residents of HSR Layout, Sector 2, expressed anger over the killing of a five-month-old pup by a few security guards of Purava Fairmont, the HSR Layout police visited the apartment to collect CCTV footage.

The CCTV footage clearly shows how Amar and two other security men captured the dog and brutally thrashed it with a stick and later with a stone.

The footage also shows one of the security men carrying a gunny bag which had the dead dog.

The layout residents had gathered late in the night on Wednesday and questioned the apartment dwellers about the incident and visited the HSR Layout police station to lodge a complaint.

On Thursday morning, the residents along with a few Animal Welfare Board of India (AWBI) officers, filed an NCR (non-cognizable report) with the police.

Harish K B, AWBI officer and the complainant, said he has already lodged the complaint and the police have also gathered evidence from the CCTV footage as well as the statement from the eyewitness. He said they also have Amar’s video where he had confessed to having killed the dog.

Nagaraj, the inspector from HSR Layout police station, said they have gathered the evidence and would take action according to the law.
