Anti-Corruption Bureau officials on Friday arrested a police inspector and a head constable on charges of graft. Inspector Sri Krishna and constable Mangalesh are attached to the Sampangiramnagar police station.
The Sampangiramnagar police had registered a case against a person under IPC Sections 447, 448, 506, 341 and 384. The head constable, on behalf of the police inspector, had demanded a bribe of Rs 1 lakh to file a B report in that particular case.
A trap was laid and the head constable was caught red-handed accepting Rs 60,000 from the complainant. Following this, the ACB sleuths arrested Sri Krishna and Mangalesh.
