Adding a new dimension to this initiative, the Palike has now begun painting faces of Indian cricket ‘demi-gods’  on the walls of the playgrounds in the City. Celebrating Sachin Tendulkar’s  20-year term in the Indian cricket team and Rahul Dravid’s feat of being the fifth cricketer to cross the 11,000 runs mark in Test history, the BBMP has started to paint the walls of playgrounds with their portraits.

The painting of the faces has begun on the Malleswaram playgrounds.
Former captain of Team India, Sourav Ganguly has also been chosen to adorn these walls.

An inspiration

BBMP sources say that the portraits are being made on the insistence of the local MLA, Dr Ashwath Narayan who believes that the images of these demi-gods will be an inspiration for the future generation who play on the playgrounds everyday.

The Palike will be painting all the four sides of the Malleswaram playground with paintings of these cricket superstars in the next couple of days.
