<p class="title">After <span class="italic">DH</span> reported about the banners put up on Sankey Road by supporters of Deputy Chief Minister G Parameshwara wishing him on his birthday, the BBMP registered an FIR against his supporters.</p>.<p class="bodytext">At the BBMP special council meeting on Monday, opposition party members questioned the flexes and banners put up by Parameshwara’s supporters. Mayor R Sampath Raj replied: “The banners were removed by BBMP officials and an FIR has been filed.”</p>.<p class="bodytext">On Sunday morning, banners and flexes were seen on Sankey Road near the Golf Club, greeting the minister, who also holds the Bengaluru Development portfolio. After criticism and several complaints, BBMP officials in the east zone removed the banners by Sunday evening.</p>.<p class="bodytext">According to a police officer from High Grounds police station, “An FIR has been registered by the BBMP assistant revenue officer against Manjunath who put up the banners.”</p>.<p class="bodytext">After the incident, Parameshwara tweeted on Monday morning, “No occasion calls for putting up flexes and damaging the aesthetics of our city. Definitely not my birthday. I had already requested my well-wishers not to celebrate my birthday. I appeal to everybody to stop putting up flex banners. Let’s keep our city clean and beautiful.”</p>
