The Vidhana Soudha police officially filed a complaint with the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Tuesday in connection with the seizure of unaccounted Rs 25.76 lakh from a stenographer, who works at the office of Backward Classes Welfare Minister K Puttaranga Shetty.

Stenographer Mohan Kumar was caught red-handed on January 4 at Vidhana Soudha while carrying cash. He was arrested.

Even though he is a temporary contract employee, as he is drawing the salary from the government, he is considered as a government servant and so police commissioner T Suneel Kumar transferred the case to the ACB.

As Mohan was working in the minister’s office and also gave a statement to police saying that the money was given by various contractors to give to the minister, ACB officials may also question the minister in the case. On Tuesday, police raided Mohan’s house in Malleswaram and minister’s office in Vidhana Soudha and seized the hard disk and other documents.
