<p class="title">The high court has pulled up the police for “lackadaisical” investigation into the suicide of a young lawyer. </p>.<p class="bodytext">Hearing a PIL petition filed by the Advocates Association Bangalore over “inept” police probe, the court expressed disappointment at what it called was an “unsatisfactory” affidavit submitted by the police. </p>.<p class="bodytext">The court then ordered the deputy inspector general of police to explain in the affidavit the cause of the “lackadaisical” approach to the investigation.</p>.<p class="bodytext">The court also sought to know why multiple investigation agencies were involved in the case and about officers involved in the probe. </p>.<p class="bodytext">The court warned of handing over the probe to the CBI if the police failed to carry out an effective investigation. </p>
