Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy said load shedding had not been implemented in Bengaluru, and the few hours when there was power outage was due to ongoing maintenance and infrastructure works.

Replying to a question by member P R Ramesh in the Council, Kumaraswamy said Bengaluru required 43 million to 48 million units of power per day. In the coming days, the demand could increase to 2,800 to 2,950 MW per day. The power generation capacity was being enhanced, the chief minister said.

The Pavagad solar power station, which had been generating 600 MW power, was being upgraded to 2,000 MW in the next two months, so that power could be sold to others.
