<p>A 35-year-old autorickshaw driver was killed and four others injured when an over-speeding canter ran over the auto on 8th mile on Tumakuru Road in the early hours of Saturday.</p>.<p>The police said the deceased is Pundalika Harsha, a resident of Thigalarapalya.</p>.<p>The injured are Sabanna, Sharanappa, Huliyamma and canter driver Ambarisha, all of whom have been admitted to a private hospital.</p>.<p>The police said Harsha was heading towards Saptagiri Hospital on Hesaraghatta Road to admit Huliyamma, who was unwell.</p>.<p>When the auto driver attempted a U-turn at the 8th mile, a speeding canter heading towards Tumakuru collided with the auto head-on.</p>.<p>The impact was so violent that the auto went airborne and crashed on the<br />road, killing the driver instantly. Passersby rescued the victims and admitted them to the hospital before alerting the Peenya traffic police.</p>.<p>The police have taken up a case and are probing the accident.</p>
