Payment deadline for KG Layout extended

Last Updated 15 December 2018, 19:42 IST

The state government has extended the payment deadline by one month for those who were allotted sites in Kempegowda Layout.

Deputy Chief Minister and Bangalore Development Minister G Parameshwara took this decision after holding a board meeting with senior Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) officials at the BDA office on Saturday.

A total of 4,971 applicants have been allotted sites in Kempegowda Layout so far. The allottees were given 60 days to pay the interest-free amount. However, a few allottees had requested the government to extend the deadline by another month.

Parameshwara said the issue will be taken up in the state Cabinet meeting. If the allottees fail to pay even by the extended period, then the BDA will collect the money along with interest.

The BDA officials have been directed to invite tenders for the peripheral ring road after January. The officials have finalised the tenders for auditing of all BDA sites and properties. The audit process is expected to be complete by March. The BDA officials have also been directed to complete the installation process of flush gates to Bellandur lake by March. This is part of the works to clean the lake, since the BDA is the custodian.

Near metro stations, officials have been directed to increase the car parking area to 75 sq metres.
