Bangalore Central candidate and actor Prakash Raj attacked the Congress party on the eve of elections on Wednesday, for sharing a post in various social media platforms which claimed that he backed the Congress party.

Raj, who is expected to file a complaint with the Election Commission regarding the issue, took to Twitter to criticise the 'fake news' and 'dirty politics' of the Congress. "A man who claims to be Rizwan's PA, whose name is Mazhar Ahmed, has used a photograph of me and Rizwan in a candidate's meeting to publicise that I was backing the Congress," he said. This is the dirty politics of the Congress and I urge my supporters not to fall prey for it, he said.

In another tweet, he uploaded the conversation between him and Mazhar, where he pulled up the latter for the photograph.

The photograph of the duo shaking hands is captioned: Prakash Raj supports Congress. Don't waste your vote by giving it to Prakash Raj.

Soon after the tweet by Prakash Raj, Congress candidate Rizwan Arshad responded by urging people not to fall for rumours. "Apparently, some fake news is being circulated about Prakash raj's association with me. Request ppl not to fall for such rumours. I have fought this election on the agenda of development & I have people's blessing with me.
@prakashraaj is an independent candidate & I wish him luck," he wrote.
