The producers of the Hindi movie ‘My Husband's Wife’ who have dubbed into Kannada with the title ‘Naanu, Nanna Preethi’ have approached the High Court seeking police protection to release the film, reports DHNS from Bengaluru.

The petitioner Darshan K has said that as there is a 'restriction' on releasing movies dubbed into Kannada in the state, some Kannada organisations have threatened the producer that they will not allow the movie to be released. Justice S Abdul Nazeer directed the petitioner to submit to the court the details of the film’s release date and the number of theatres. The bench adjourned the hearing to Thursday.

‘Approach BBMP’

The High Court on Wednesday disposed of a PIL seeking directions to restrain the BBMP from collecting advance property tax from citizens as per the revised notification issued by it on March 9, 2016. A division bench comprising Chief Justice S K Mukherjee and Justice Ravi Malimath directed the petitioner to submit a representation to the BBMP commissioner in this regard. Bharath Surachana Mandala had approached court seeking a direction to BBMP to do away with the unscientific method of calculation of advance taxes of residential and non-residential properties and collect tax only for previous financial year.
