Sandalwood tree stolen from school

A sandalwood tree from the Bishop Cotton Girls' School premises on St Mark's Road was axed and stolen on Friday night.

The incident came to light the following day when the security personnel along with the school authorities noticed the tree missing.

Sergeant Aaron, accounts manager of the school, has lodged a complaint with the Cubbon Park police, based on which a case under relevant sections of the Karnataka Forest Act was registered on Saturday.

The police are now questioning the security personnel and verifying CCTV footage to identify the thieves. Further investigations are under way.
