3 get 20 yrs jail for raping woman in front of husband

The 53rd Additional City Civil and Sessions Court here on Friday sentenced three persons to 20 years imprisonment for raping a woman in front of her husband and mother-in-law in DJ Halli in 2014.

M Latha Kumari, the judge, found Nandeesh (21), Anil Kumar (21) Sujeeth Kumar (21), guilty of the offence and convicted, besides slapping a fine of Rs 50,000 each.

Symon, the fourth accused in the case, who was holding a knife when they rapped the victim, was awarded 10 years of imprisonment.

All the four are residents of Kalena Agrahara near Bannerghatta.

According to Chinna Venkataravanappa, public prosecutor, the four went to Green Layout, Bellandur village on October 24, 2014. They locked houses in the neighbourhood and knocked on the door of the victim's house around 11.40 pm. They entered inside posing as policemen after the victim's husband opened the door. Minutes later, at knifepoint they robbed the valuables. Later, the trio rapped the victim in front of her husband and mother-in-law taking turns, as Symon held the knife.

The DJ Halli police arrested the four and filed the charge sheet.
