Tight security for Kumaraswamy’s swearing-in

Elaborate security arrangements have been made for the swearing-in ceremony of JD(S) leader H D Kumaraswamy as the chief minister at the eastern gate of Vidhana Soudha.

Bengaluru Police commissioner T Suneel Kumar said that around 2,500 policemen, including eight deputy commissioners, 20 assistant commissioners, 100 inspectors, 35 platoons of Karnataka Reserve Police, 50 platoons of City Armed Reserve and 10 platoons of Central Armed Police Forces and also a dog squad and other police personnel have been deployed.

The movement of drones is restricted in and around Vidhana Soudha.

Parking facility

The parking facility for buses carrying supporters of JD(S) and Congress has been made at the Palace Grounds in Krishna Vihar, Circus Grounds, Mavinkai Mandi Ground taking an entry from the Jayamahal Road.

Cars and bikes can be parked in the Freedom Park, Central College Grounds, Sri Kanteerava Outdoor Stadium, St Joseph’s High School and UB City pay and park.

Road blocked

Traffic movement and parking have been restricted in front of Vidhana Soudha from the Police Thimmaiah Circle Road till the KR Circle from 2.30 pm to 5.30 pm.

Traffic jam expected

Expect massive traffic jams on Mysuru Road, Ballari Road, Kanakapura Road, Cubbon Park, KR Circle, Jayamahal Road, Outer Ring Road and other places.

Parking restricted

Parking is restricted in and around Vidhana Soudha, including Queen’s Road, Seshadri Road, Palace Road, Race Course Road, inside Cubbon Park, CV Raman Road, Jayamahal Road, Ballari Road and other roads leading to the Vidhana Soudha.
