The Bengaluru police have initiated a marathon to highlight the issue of drug abuse among youth in the city.

Commissioner of Police T Sunil Kumar, Addl. Commissioner of Police Alok Kumar are among the top cops who are participating in the marathon. The marathon takes place at the St. Joseph's Indian High School Grounds, opposite UB City in the Central Business District area.

In July, Deputy CM G Parameshwara said that he would not allow an 'Udta Bengaluru' to happen, referring to the film Udta Punjab, which highlighted the rampant drug abuse in the state and the rising menace of drug abuse here in the city.
